What is MUN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.
The participants role-play as diplomats representing a nation or NGO in a simulated session of a committee of the United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.
FriMUN is the first association in the University of Fribourg to dedicate itself to MUN activities and preparation. Our association is independent of religion and political views, and we pose no restrictions regarding academic studies or age. Our only concern is to gather students eager to learn and participate, and to make sure you have an enjoyable experience.
The English level taught in high school is highly sufficient to take part in the debates, and you are encouraged to participate whenever you feel comfortable to! That is our criteria to welcome a greater number of people to be part of this experience.
We count on you to make this project grow and to pass it on to the next generation of students! For any questions, feel to contact us at any moment!
